Friday, March 18, 2005 - i never have had the pleasure of these wines in their heyday. i have tasted a number of them from the ninties, and wasn't nearly as critical as others. however, i did notice that they have become more tannic, and seem to have less fruit as the decade wore on. the last vintage i can say i'm really familiar with is 1997.

i was stunned by the consistent high quality of this trio. all were fruit forward without the dried, dusty, overly tannic, alcoholic mess i have come to expect from so many TN's over the years. i won't address the QPR, but if you like DC in general, you will flip over this vintage. my favorite was the GM because i felt it had the most underlying structure and balance. sorry, i guess this was more my impressions than a real TN.
