90 Points

Monday, April 1, 2019 - Cellared since purchase. Starting to develop a slight brick tone, tho still dark. Black cherry, licorice, lavender, chocolate on the nose. After a few minutes the nose developed a slightly distracting metallic note. With more air, the metallic note morphed into a stemmy or floral tone. Smooth and fine on the palate with some sharp red cherry or cranberry acids. Would go very nicely with a juicy, fatty steak. Medium finish, smooth, ending with hint of oak. This would seem to have the goods to go another couple years, but likely is peaking now. Continued to improve over half an hour. Might be a point more, perhaps 91
