Wednesday, April 3, 2019 - A more refined example than the other vintages I have tried. Quite classy in fact, though also a bit bruising at this age. Raspberry, herbs and funk. The kind of over-lushness you get from a gardenia blossom: indeed there are also strong hints of jasmine/gardenia to the scent. Good acids. Highish mouth-puckering tannins though not too terrifying. Puts me in mind of Chateau Musar, aromatically and texturally, in this vintage! Can be drunk now, but better after a year or two to settle down: at the moment it's a bit coarse in its bitter finish. 93
