90 Points

Thursday, April 4, 2019 - The wine was medium garnet in colour and offered cherry, mixed berries, rusty nail, moss, forest floor, some coffee and some chocolate on the nose. On the palate, the wine showed cherry, berries, plum, lots of Pinot spice, rusty nail, iron and stony minerality as well as coffee, chocolate, moss and earthy notes, with lively acidity and very good length of the rusty nail- and iron-infused finish. The tannin was still present. The fluid, medium-bodied wine benefited from aeration and gained weight and grew on me over time. I loved the complex, mossy, mineral, Pinot-spice profile and the positive tension. More open and complete and even better on day two. I would hold for another five years to soften the tannin. A very good Pinot!
