Friday, April 12, 2019 - 13.5% alcohol. Good cork. Medium golden colour.
The nose is light and subtle, with yellow flowers and a great feel of purity; free of buttery notes and of oak too. The mouth is correspondingly long rather than broad, elegant and racy; plenty of tension. This wine is certainly on the lean side of Puligny, but none the worse for it (this is lean as in muscular rather than emaciated). A worthy companion to our lobster. In perfect condition too, and looking fit for another five years.
Unfortunately not a repeat purchase on price grounds; in any case the estate is now split between the two sons.
