90 Points

Friday, April 19, 2019 - Good fill. Cork slightly sunken and drops in to bottle when touched (Bottle has been stood up for a few months, so entirely possible given the level and lack of seepage that this is a recent development. Wine in good shape. Mid garnet, bright and clear, tending to orange at the rim. Lovely nose, mature Pinot sous-bois and sweet vestiges of fruit. Nicely fresh. Takes on a gamey nature alongside the woodcock with truffle risotto and sweeetens and fills out with air. Holds well over three hours. Lovely. Not overly complex or profound, but a lovely drink and just right for the occasion. ***1/2
