87 Points

Thursday, May 9, 2019 - Quite impressive for a Fingerlakes syrah! The nose here is very striking and interesting, with a note I took to be viognier over red currents. On the palate, the wine seems very young with a slightly grassy flavor (or perhaps chives?). Light but nicely balanced.

The score I'll give doesn't really do justice because the Fingerlakes region really isn't what you think of as a syrah zone. So 87 for this bottle, but very promising in terms of where this could go as the vines mature, and if our summers trend towards a longer growing season and a hotter mid-summer period.
