Friday, July 12, 2019 - On the heels of the impressive 05 Pressings last weekend, this looks more stylish than when last tasted, and to have overcome its hot vintage birth. Maturing colour with more brick/brown fade than the two 05 blends.

No mistaking the initial walnut/seaweed nose with mustard seed. Later more fragrant blue fruits and blackberry coulis, a of hint liquorice, leather and mint.

Palate leans more to the Pressings than Shiraz/Malbec from 05, with a finer seam, medium body. Started lighter than the two blends (perhaps akin to the experience of the other two TNs for 2019), almost Chianti-like back palate with fresh acid. But in typical Wendouree fashion, expanded by night two to show more depth, a flavour-spectrum across the palate, and fine but clinging tannin. If you let it open up, this will satisfy. Another good 5-10 years.
