90 Points

Thursday, August 1, 2019 - Took 30 minutes to really open up, still building after an hour. Color is quite dark. Nose is blackberry-cherry liqueur, a touch of browned cream, dried flowers, and a note like a Highland single malt - boozy but floral. On the palate this has medium acidity, low-medium tannin. Very good purity of fruit, savory undercurrent, plush pillowy texture. I would personally prefer a little more zing but this feels like a stylistic textural choice by the winemaker. Just a touch hot in my mind, but very enjoyable. Best to drink in the next 3 years, for my tastes 14.2%, $40.
