Saturday, August 31, 2019 - Still not ready to open at 16 years of age. The intense tannins overshadow the quite substantial fruit. Suggest waiting until at least 2023 to open. Probably good until 2030. The window on CT, which currently says 2009 - 2020 is way off.
While decidedly not a crowd pleaser at this stage, it is quite good, and a treasure for those who are OK with the very tannic balance.

9/1/2019 6:03:00 AM - Glad to hear your thoughts on the drinking window! This is my daughter’s birth year and given the CT window I didn’t think we would wait until 21 to drink it with her. But sounds like we might as well hang on to it and see what happens.
