Saturday, September 7, 2019 - Consistent with previous bottles. This was my 11th tasting of the 2016 vintage and this offering continues to be noticeably leaner and more austere than 2015 and 2014. My impression is that drinks well but lacks the complexity and deliciousness of prior vintages. I bought a whole case of this and will revisit bottles over the next weeks/months.

Medium garnet in color, this wine reveals dark fruits including plum, blackberry and white flowers on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with more black berry and black cherry. The finish brings the fruit and together in a pleasant, no hard edges fashion. 13.5% abv.

Purchased for $13US, this vintage is noticeably leaner and less complex but remains a good qpr, perfect for everyday sipping.

Imported by Vajra USA, Manhasset, NY.
