91 Points

Friday, November 8, 2019 - Notes after following for about 6 hours open. Dark ruby color, clear body with a good dose of sediment in the punt. No other signs of age. Profound nose with a standard Right Bank profile - pencil shavings, cassis, tobacco leaf, et al. Big tannins and tense fruit grip on the cheeks whilst this ebbs and flows a bit on the mid-palate, where it has a good push of flavor one minute and then feels reserved and coy the next. There's also evidence of the stewy, dense, ripe character of '05, though I think that won't matter so much once this really hits adulthood. 5+12+16+8= 91
