Monday, November 25, 2019 - Brought to J. Gilbert’s (a fantastic steakhouse BTW only $20 corkage) and decanted at the table. I’ve had quite a few Mondavi Reserves over the years and this struck me as very similar effort from Tim Mondavi. I think in 2008 he was still sourcing fruit but he sure made some really good juice. I’m never good at describing detailed flavors so let’s just say it tasted like classic Napa Cabernet and you’ll get what I mean. Long finish that matched our wood grilled center-cut filets perfect. Bottle was finished too fast between me and my wife because it was hard to resist a sip after every bite!
