Friday, November 29, 2019 - Chateau Cheval Blanc - 30 year vertical (1949-2015) tasted blind: Darker and denser than the 2009 next to it, meaty, masculine, very ripe but also fresh. The palate is dense but fresh, no sign of cooked fruit. Wild. Today, it was outshined by the more balanced and drinkable 2009 but I think the potential here is high. Don’t waste your money by opening this before 2025 and expect reach its peak plateau earliest in 2030 at age 20. 97+
