88 Points

Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - Good nose and a surprisingly rich palate with white peach, melon, lemon and pith. For me, it lacked the characteristic acidity and 'bite' of most Spanish Albarino but it was soft and fruity and a wine that was enjoyable on its own. Quite complex as it opened. I thought it had hints of asparagus and a very 'New Zealand' richness that reminded me of some NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Some brioche later as it warmed. Quite nice and well made but not memorable for me. Others enjoyed it more so I have raised my 87 to 88.
