Saturday, December 28, 2019 - I was a little skittish after the last bottle, which had turned. Not so the case with these two beautiful bottles. Thesewere a great foil to the two gorgeous 1995 Oeno I drank over the same holiday period. Where the Dom was lemon, these Comtes were nearer the apple and apple peel spectrum, and possibly richer. Here I tasted rich, sweet, not cloying in any way, apple flesh and baked pie dough. The swallow was so gentle and lovely, easygoing. But it was still rich and full. I think the wine was pretty opened up. There was also that pretty, barely dark mineral that I have gotten with Comtes.

All in all it this was a joy to drink and is in a nice place to drink now and into the future.
