Monday, December 30, 2019 - Decanted 1hr. Rich and meaty on the nose - with a lick of oak. None of the rubber smell you can get with some south africans of this era, but somehow very much south african on the nose. A little light on the palate, fairly tertiary, with little in the way of primary fruit, but nice rich oak and forest floor. A burst of tannin brings on the fairly long finish, which is very nice. Overall a good to very good wine, certainly mature, but i wouldn't say over the hill yet. Drink up if you have it as id say its in a pretty good place at the moment.
