This wine is altogether lighter in body, and driven more by spice and mineral than fruit, as is the norm for California. Dare I say this has some elegance and subtlety, but lacks the sheer power to merit an outstanding rating in my book. Don't get me wrong, I like this wine, and enjoyed it a lot, but it just landed slightly in quaffer territory rather than keeper.
