Friday, February 21, 2020 - Tasted blind from decanter (maybe 60min in the decanter). Dense and intense, immediately revealing that this is a very special bottling. Broadcasts meticulously the terroir with a level of precision I've never experienced form this region before. Graphite minerality and earthy notes, a rather dark cherry fruit initially turning more red over time. Also some pepper, an overlay of fine spices and a whiff of menthol every now and then. On the palate outstanding balance with a supple, velvety texture showing Burgundian elegance. This just effortlessly ejects everybody else in the Bündner Herrschaft from the race.
