Monday, March 16, 2020 - How fun to taste this blind - the nose is soft and supple, full of smoke, caramel, old wood, and mellow dark fruit. Similar on the palate, with a hint of stem and cab franc-ish mineral pushing me toward St Emilion and away from Pomerol. The tannins have almost melted away. My guess was St. Emilion from somewhere on the edge of the village (Canon, Clos Fourtet, etc - but not Ausone) from 1989 or 1990.
