Saturday, March 28, 2020 - The 1995 Ducru-Beaucaillou has a glorious nose straight out of the bottle, with vibrant boysenberry, redcurrant, pencil, petrichor, and wildflowers - potent, fresh, elegant, complete. Gorgeously fresh palate with a long, elegant, mixed berry, and pencil lead finish that lasts for ages. Delightful. Followed for just over 5 hours in the decanter, this was at its most expressive during the first hour. 95-96 points today but depending on how it unfolds as this enters its plateau of maturity, the 1995 may eventually be more impressive than that.
