Monday, June 1, 2020 - This wasn’t bad. Decanted for almost 3 hours and it was still a bit tight. Yes I know it’s only an ‘18, but I thought a three hour decant would work. All in all, it was nice. A nice fairly accurate example of a Rutherford CS and it’s famous dust. Nice dark color, decent aroma and a nice taste of dark fruit and plum. Fairly nice balance as well. For the price, an Excellent QPR.
Amazing that this same winery also makes the absolutely atrocious 2018 Rockpile Cabernet. This and the Howell Mountain CS of their “Appalachian Series” have both been very, very good. May have to go buy a couple more bottles of each.
