Monday, June 15, 2020 - This is the best Gamay I’ve had. Granted, we don’t drink many of them but this lacks the musty, overly floral and unbalanced acid that has kept us away from this grape.

The wine is lighter bodied, with a nose of candied apple, slight bubble gum and smoky ham. The palate is welcoming with soft edges and driven acid, displaying caramel cola, tart cherries, cranberries, and just a touch of mint/basil toward the finish. Some stoniness that sticks to cheeks but no tannins. Alcohol seems on low end.

Played very well with a pasta and garlic cream sauce dish. The garlic and nutmeg in the sauce played nicely off of the minerality in the wine. The wine has just enough structure to stand up to the creamy yet flavorful sauce.
