Thursday, July 9, 2020 - Leftover third bottle, it was popped and barely touched. One day in the fridge really softens it up, even though there is still tannin for years. Old school nose is just so attractive: chalky, bold, minty and a little creamy. There is pencil box, smoky tobacco, chocolate, strawberry, cherry, prune, vanilla, fresh grass, meat and tea. The palate is juicy, sappy, cleanly resolved but still with a firm grasp, reaching superb depth with amazing hearty spice. It is for the similar reasons I like 82’ and all these older Lafites. Truly classy. 95
