Friday, July 24, 2020 - The nose was expressive, with dark red cherry fruit, sweet spices, roses, smoke, and licorice. On the palate, it was explosive with dark fruit, spices, and balsamic towards the finish. It remains a highly structured wine with softening but still strong tannin toward the back end. Acidity level is medium to high. It’s a thrilling, dark wine with plenty of life left - seems like it is likely to benefit from a bit more age to further soften the tannins.
