Wednesday, July 22, 2020 - Prior bottle was seven months ago but my notes were slightly different as this bottle was opened about 4.5 hours ahead of time. Nose showed more black cherry and plum notes as opposed to the bright blackberry previously. Medium bodied with rounder, more open black cherry upfront, with just some blackberry highlights. Mid-body showed real purity of blackfruit, especially black cherry. Fine grained tannins, lightly tart acidity and mineral notes through the backside and finish. Overall balance felt a bit better from my prior bottle (due to extended time open) and some of the more youthful, bright notes were more highlights. Clearly, this is holding up quite well with a good amount of time ahead of it. I will open my last bottle in June/July 2021.
