Friday, November 13, 2020 - Decanted a hour and a half before tasting. Rich dark golden yellow initially but actually got lighter, younger looking and tasting with air over several hours. Tastes and looks its decade of age, but still rather magnificent. Classic, big rich chard, but perfectly balanced with acidity, oak influence, fruit and minerality all strutting their stuff in tandem. Finish is very long and shows flinty minerals and lemon. Excellent with my Lobster, Fennel Risotto topped with Apollo Barouni Olive Oli and shaved white truffles, though frankly surpassed in the pairing by 2004 Domaine Yves Cuilleron Condrieu Les Chaillets. Nonetheless this was stunning by itself as well.
