I find this wine to show nice, rich earthy/fruit character, but with a touch of heavy ripeness. It did have some funk/over ripeness at opening that blew off after an hour or two in the decanter.

I like the wine, and don't find it declining (unless the borderline over ripe element is sign of decline vs. the original profile?). I have 5 or 6 more and will drink them periodically to keep tabs, but I am not rushing. I found the wine enjoyable and a well aged wine, if a bit heavier than some other Paulliac's of similar age tried lately
