2015 Forlorn Hope Trousseau Noir

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Sunday, November 15, 2020 - PnP from a 55 degree cellar. The color is striking: totally translucent, burnt orange, almost rust. Nose of light underripe strawberry, cherry, and lots of blood orange pith. Similar on the palate. Surprisingly bitter on the finish, but pleasantly so. Mouthwatering acids. Notably lighter and more citrus tinged than the Arnot Roberts Trousseau, which I generally find more redolent of cherries and strawberries. Delicious and refreshing. I suspect the blood orange pith will seem stronger as the primary fruits (continue to) fade. I also suspect this will be a very interesting wine in five years, though, again, I do think the primary red fruits will be quite faded.
