Saturday, January 9, 2021 - This wine is still well within it's prime drinking window 11+ years later. I found the wine less fruit forward with less "dusty tannins" and much more refined and structured than early reviews suggest. Importantly this is expected AS LONG AS THE WINE HOLDS UP, which is frequently not the case with aughts pinots. But the spice and cherry/plumb/dark berry is still very prominent and delicious. I'll hold off on suggesting I taste the violet and rose and hope to continue refining my palate there but if you get that more power to you. This is still worth buying but I would buy to drink in 2021 or 2022 rather than to put away for any length of time.
