1996 Château Branaire (Duluc-Ducru)

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Friday, January 29, 2021 - Attractively open nose with earthy cedar scents, the palate is consistent with the bouquet with rich and a bit sweet cedar and cassis flauvors, mouldy forest floor, moist leather, hints of licorice and austere characteristics often found in left banks. Fruit is nicely there complemented by good acidity but the tannins are accentuated making this somewhat unbalanced and maybe even disjointed. More years in the cellar does not necessarily fix this. Nevertheless I found this enjoyable but to some this maybe challenging.
