Wednesday, February 24, 2021 - I can see how this wine might be a love/dislike experience. It's the third Benovia Tilton Hill Pinot we've had and we have loved them all. Mainly because of the overt pepper notes. For us it makes the wine unusual and a welcome change of pace. Thanks to OLD GRAY HARE for the notes. Prompted me to pick up at auction.
This has strong white pepper with cherry cola and dark red fruit notes. Give it a slight chill and 30 minutes of air to smooth out the initial assault on the senses.
Somewhat atypical of a Benovia Pinot, not quite as viscous/fruit forward. Based on old CT notes, time in bottle has definitely helped.
Be advised on the pepper thing and avoid if you don't "like-a-da-pepper".
