Saturday, December 23, 2017 - Gift from Scott and Kelly from prior year. Very thin looking light red apple color, unique and pretty. Very deceptive as the wine has some serious weight and power. Aroma funky initially on opening, almost thought it was flawed. But then after 1.5 hours decant, opened up to a floral nose. Lovely red fruit with noticeable acidity and surprisingly coarse tannins. Complexity in the distance, some fig perhaps, smoke. I actually loved it which surprised me. Christine didn't and she usually likes Pinot. Brian liked it. Would happily drink this again if offered but not sure I would seek it out for the price tag I've seen. Might well be better with more time in the cellar.
