Friday, June 4, 2021 - My first Dolcetto and I like it. Has a unique bitter licorice/fruity rooibos character along with new leather, mahogany spice, something floral. The fruit is closer to Bordeaux varietals than the high toned red fruit of Nebbiolo or Barbera. M acid, maybe close to M+, and M to M- tannin. I like the style.

This seems fine to drink now and probably not a lot of reason to age, but no hurry either. Food wise this is asking for lots of garlic, tomatoes, gamey meat, bitter and heavily cooked veggies like eggplant. Definitely worth the $18 I paid. 6.3-6.4/10
