Thursday, June 10, 2021 - On opening it has an immediate heady cigar box and cedar nose - an intersection between secondary and tertiary characters. On the palate it’s very structured - wet rocks and bell peppers - you can tell it lacks the full fruit of a ripe vintage, but has firm four square acid and tannins. That said it’s entirely classical and the fruit, muted though it is, is still silky. For lovers of old fashioned claret perhaps. No hurry to drink.
