Friday, July 23, 2021 - What a beauty. It's time to drink the 2004, I don't think more cellar time will make it any better. Excellent nose more elegant than rustic, but still with those desired mineral-like qualities we Musar enthusiasts love. Color is beginning to fade from bright red to brickish-copper. We decanted for about an hour and then couldn't help but sip as it breathed throughout the evening. We had alongside a 2011 Musar to mark the differences (and let's be honest, it was an excuse to have two Musar's instead of one). I'll comment on the 2011 in the appropriate space, but boy was it fun to do. Tasted lots of bright red fruits, and everything on the nose crossed right over into the palate. This is really fun drinking. Open one of these when you have a long evening in front of you and enjoy the evolution as it breathes.
