Sunday, August 22, 2021 - Not giving a numerical rating since I think this is in a slightly dumb phase. That said, it appears to have structure (specifically, ample tannin and acid) to support a long life. The nose and palate are kind of unidimensional and dominated by sour cherry, black licorice, and olive tapenade. Opened up partially after an hour decant, but I feel like this still needs time to develop.
Addendum-Tasted again after two days under vacuum. Unfortunately this doesn’t portend too well as with a half hour of air started having some not entirely pleasant stewed prune and mushroom-type flavors.
