Friday, September 10, 2021 - Another lost Friday afternoon gathering - mostly French (Jailbreak Brewery, Laurel, MD): Very vinous nose displaying subtle red fruit with a hint of yellow, strawberry water, sous bois, a hint of sherry, caramel, copper, roasted nuts and mineral. Medium body, nicely layered red fruit, deeply toned, medium acidity, limestone mineral and a long subtle red fruit driven finish with sherry and nut at the end. This is a bit like a mature Rioja. This should be treated as a mature wine with very “natural” impression. A great contrast to the 20 Ott rose which is simply delicious but not profound.
