Monday, November 1, 2021 - {screwcap, 13%} Attractive fading garnet. Fabulous nose of smoke, earth, tobacco, rotting strawberries and forest floor. Fresh compost, always clean though! It’s only just medium bodied, with polished, developing flavours per the nose, softly resolved dusty tannins, and medium acidity. Even palate, medium length finish. The nose is wonderful, the palate doesn’t quite have the length or depth you then expect, due to the fading tannins, but goodness, this is a lovely mouthful of wine. Close to peak I reckon, will be fine to hold for a few years but I doubt there’s more interest to come.
