Saturday, December 25, 2021 - Lovely wine. Should have had it 5 years ago, but still super nice. Reddish colour, starting to fade. On the nose lovely hints of tobacco, ripe red fruit, farmyard and forrest floor.
On the palate a lot of the same, but the fruit has mellowed out a lot and the tannins are completely integrated.
I’m starting to enjoy my Bordeauxs younger, i.e. under 20 years of age. At 33 years old, this one was an exception, but still lovely.
I’m sure there will be plenty of bottle variation, but I wouldn’t keep this any longer, no benefit.
