88 Points

Saturday, December 25, 2021 - From 37,5cl, decanted 1 hour. Closed, crabby, vaguely red-fruit-oaky scent; entry and mid-palate dominated by very high acidity—fruit? yes, something red-purple but alas not identifiable—tannic carapace; short finish. On the sterner side of Pauillac as usual, but I think of Lynch Bages as being more boisterous than this dour, sour customer. Wonder where my remaining half bottles are heading, as there has been such major bottle variation so far, and look forward to opening a 75cl next year to compare. 88-89P(?)
