Friday, February 20, 2009 - Took this to dinner with some friends at Whym (NYC - corkage was only $15). Waiter had a bit of problem getting the cork out - it broke up and they had to decant it.
Initially a little muskiness but it soon blew away. Still showing signs of the typically Bordeaux nose of sour cherries though after 20yrs, not surprisingly it is muted - no heat or alcohol on the nose. Still nice colour.
The taste, WOW ! Silky, velvety smooth - little tannins or alcohol. This is why I love aged Bordeauxs. Finish wasnt overly long but me and my friends really enjoyed it. Glad I have another bottle, am not going to keep beyond another year
