Wednesday, January 12, 2022 - Dry, crumbly cork. Used a Durand to successfully open it without difficulty. Found lots of inky dark sludge upon opening. Interesting but not off-putting. Rich, iron, lavender, dry leaf, prune nose. Big bodied and big flavored. Plum, meaty, rust, a little licorice. Good acid. On its downward slope but only just so. Very enjoyable big wine. Haven't had many Paso Robles wines but this is what I thought they would be like.
