Saturday, January 15, 2022 - Decanted - with slight sediment - a few hours before dinner: Thank you pilatus88!
Initial: medium violet in color; red fruit on the nose; tart red fruit on the palate.
At one hour: dark violet in color; nose and palate haven't changed much.
At two hours: deep purple in color; darker red fruits on the nose; the palate is very attractive with a mix of bright red and dark red fruits, spice, integrated tannins, and nicely balancing acidity.
The wine continued to open and soften throughout the meal, so more air time is fine. This wine should hold for several more years but should be aired out for maximum enjoyment.
