Sunday, March 13, 2022 - Opened and poured. A full bodied, dark pinot, showing smoky notes of the 2008 harvest laced with wildfire essence. Toasty oak...lacking some acidity. A little flabby, but showing classic Kanzler fruits of fruit leather, plummy paste, dates, bruised strawberry, hoisin, boysenberry. Overall a very nice bottle.
