Friday, March 6, 2009 - Notes from day 2. Nice dark red/purple color. On the nose I get raspberries, both red and black, with a little forest floor, and a little acytone note on the tail. On the palate I get more mixed raspberry action, with a little cola, earth, and a white pepper & heat on the tail end. The finish is average and there is, as others have noted, mouthwatering aspect present. There is nice acidity here and it would go well with food. Little suprised this seems hot on day 2 as it was about the same amount yesterday. Overall a great entry level blend that gives you nice secondary flavors most don't and if memory serves me correctly this is much more balanced than some of the single vineyard 06's that are "bigger wines".
