Friday, May 13, 2022 - Wine lunch at Bocca di Lupo. Beautiful russet colour. Oxidative nose but also nutty, smoky, something subtly herby. Quite low acidity gives it a certain delicacy on the palate but still has some length, resolving to a note of very ripe orchard fruit. Very intriguing but what made this wine remarkable was the extraordinary though accidental pairing with pasta (pansotti) with foraged herbs, walnuts and cheese sauce. Improved the next day and did not deteriorate on day 3.
