Thursday, May 26, 2022 - Just sooooo delicious and fun. I'd give it maybe a 93 for $20 but it seems to be pretty widely available for less, sometimes closer to $15, so I'll bump up the score a bit. That is, good for $20, truly amazing for $15. Small but important difference. Hard to ask for more in a $15 wine, if you're looking for something fresh and fun with a touch of hidden complexity.

Nose that's exactly like you'd expect, super bright and fresh red cherries, high toned but with enough ripeness there to feel well-rounded. Kind of one of those rhubarb juice Beaujolais cuvees. Gently minerally on the nose too.

The palate had plenty of that fresh cherry also, maybe a little closer to sour cherry, a little sharper than the nose suggested, but not in a bad way. There's a little twinge of gamey funk on the palate that I just loved, and again some wet stone minerality toward the finish. Once you get closer to the $25 range you can find similar with a little more depth and balance, but this was still well ahead of many others that feel too austere for me. Pure delight in a glass!
