Saturday, February 6, 2021 - Deep red plum to garnet edges.
There are attractive aromas of cedarwood, cassia root and super-ripe black fruits with a touch of raisin. As it opens, more cocoa beans, brown spice, and undergrowth emerge with cassis. Clear oak influence.
The entry is sweet and generous, medium to full-bodied and silky-textured. There is plenty of fruit with rosemary, spoken, black olive, cassis, redcurrants, dry stone and spice. The deep core follows through to a dense tannic structure framing this concentrated wine.
The back palate seems a little harsher with a tobacco and cayenne pepper bite to it. Interestingly the alcohol is stated at 13% but feels way more than this.
