2015 Marcel Deiss Engelgarten

90 Points

Sunday, June 26, 2022 - This field blend is as exotic as previous comments suggest. After first opening there is a small bit of off-putting oxidation, but that minimizes after opening up (and mostly unnoticable on day 2.) There is a definite richness on the palate, but in contrast to a previous note the sneakiness lay in the imperceptible acidity that helps balance the unusual flavor palette. See other notes for their various descriptors. Held up well accompanying tofu and shrimp fried rice on night 1 and was nice all by itself on night 2. Very Good to Excellent, upgraded to Excellent for its exoticism.
